Essential banking services, including transactional accounts, savings, and investment products, are also available, alongside customer loyalty programs. Furthermore, the group extends commercial property financing and various term loan facilities. Its corporate and investment banking division delivers sophisticated services encompassing investment banking, private equity, infrastructure investments, and extensive corporate banking solutions, complemented by wealth management expertise. Absa’s insurance portfolio includes life policies covering death, disability, retrenchment, and funeral expenses, as well as life-wrapped investment products. The group presents diverse investment avenues, offering asset management, multi-management strategies, unit trusts, and other specialized investment vehicles. Treasury services and expert wealth and financial advisory complete this segment. Additionally, Absa facilitates market services, provides trade and working capital solutions, and manages cash, payments, and liquidity for its clients. The company also operates as a broker-dealer for debt and equity securities, and is involved in the solicitation, syndication, selling, and arrangement of various equity and debt products, alongside offering financial, leasing, and management services. Established in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1986, Absa Group Limited adopted its current name in May 2018, having previously been known as Barclays Africa Group Limited.
