Biotest's product portfolio addresses critical needs within hematology, clinical immunology, and intensive care medicine. For instance, Biotest provides treatments for hemophilia, including Haemoctin and Vihuma for hemophilia A, and Haemonine for hemophilia B, addressing both acute episodes and long-term prevention. Its infectious disease portfolio features therapies like Cytotect CP for cytomegalovirus, Varitect for varicella zoster virus, and several Hepatitis B-related products such as Fovepta (for neonate prophylaxis), Hepatect (reinfection prophylaxis), and Zutectra (post-liver transplant reinfection prevention). For immune system disorders and certain neurological conditions, Biotest offers Intratect and IgG Next Generation, targeting primary and secondary antibody deficiencies, and autoimmune diseases. Additionally, Biotest produces Albiomin and Biseko for plasma volume restoration, alongside Cofact and Fibrinogen to address various clotting factor deficiencies, including congenital fibrinogen deficiency. Specialized treatments further comprise Trimodulin for community-acquired pneumonia and COVID-19, and Pentaglobin for bacterial infections. Initially established as Biotest Serum-Institut GmbH, the company adopted its current name, Biotest Aktiengesellschaft, in 1986. As of January 21, 2022, Biotest AG functions as a subsidiary of Grifols, S.A.
