Its Textile division manufactures and distributes a broad range of materials, from fibers and garment components to finished apparel and industrial textiles. It also imports lifestyle brands, fashion accessories, and clothing across luxury, casual, and athletic categories. The Machinery division offers comprehensive engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services. Its projects encompass water treatment, environmental solutions, infrastructure development, renewable energy initiatives, oil and gas ventures, petrochemical facilities, and independent power production. This segment also facilitates the sale and leasing of aircraft and related equipment, trades in automobiles, construction machinery, electronic systems, industrial equipment, and medical devices, and engages in ship ownership and chartering. The Metals & Minerals division focuses on the extraction and trade of key commodities such as iron ore, coal, uranium, base metals, and minor metals. It also handles the trading of non-ferrous metallic materials and the processing and distribution of steel products. The Energy & Chemicals division is involved in the commerce of crude oil, refined petroleum products, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), liquefied natural gas (LNG), natural gas, and hydrogen. It further trades in a wide spectrum of chemicals, including organic and inorganic compounds, synthetic resins, household chemical products, fine chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and electronic materials, in addition to generating and trading electricity. The Food division covers the entire value chain for food products, from manufacturing and distribution to retail sales. The General Products & Realty division is engaged in the production and sale of paper, pulp, natural rubber, tires, and wood-based goods and materials. It also undertakes the development and management of real estate assets, spanning residential properties, logistics centers, and other ventures, while providing integrated logistics services. The ICT & Financial Business division delivers IT solutions, internet-related services, venture capital investments, mobile communication equipment and services, business process outsourcing (BPO), broadcasting and communication services, entertainment and content production, outsourcing for healthcare and preventive medicine, and financial and insurance brokerage. The company was established in Tokyo, Japan, in 1858.
