The Water Resources segment is responsible for water distribution, sewage treatment, and the construction of essential water supply and wastewater infrastructure, including pipeline installation, across both Mainland China and Hong Kong. Within its Property Investment and Development segment, the company invests in various properties across Hong Kong and Mainland China, while also developing and selling properties exclusively in Mainland China. This segment further provides property management services for commercial properties. The Department Stores segment oversees the operation of retail department stores throughout Mainland China. Its Electric Power Generation segment manages coal-fired power plants in Guangdong province, Mainland China, providing both electricity and steam. The Hotel Operation and Management segment encompasses the operation of hotels and offers hotel management services to third parties in Hong Kong and Mainland China. As of December 31, 2021, this division oversaw 27 hotels, specifically 3 in Hong Kong, 1 in Macau, and 23 in Mainland China. The Road and Bridge segment focuses on investments in, and the operation and management of, various toll road and bridge projects within Mainland China. Finally, the 'Others' segment delivers treasury services in Hong Kong and Mainland China, along with other corporate and related services. Incorporated in 1973 and headquartered in Central, Hong Kong, the company was originally known as Union Globe Development Limited before being renamed Guangdong Investment Limited in January 1987. It operates as a subsidiary of GDH Limited.
