Its extensive operations cover regions including Brazil, North America, Latin America, Europe, and the Asia Pacific. The company's activities are structured into five main segments: Commercial Aviation, Defense and Security, Executive Jets, Service & Support, and Other. The Commercial Aviation division focuses on the development and production of a diverse range of commercial passenger aircraft. The Defense and Security segment is dedicated to the research, development, manufacturing, modification, and support of military and security aircraft, also offering integrated defense solutions like radars, specialized space systems, and comprehensive C4ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computer, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) systems. The Service & Support segment delivers comprehensive after-sales solutions, encompassing maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) for commercial, executive, and defense aircraft, as well as supplying aircraft components, engines, and aviation structures (steel and composite) to other manufacturers. Finally, the "Other" segment is involved in supplying various aircraft systems, including fuel, structural, mechanical, and hydraulic components, in addition to manufacturing specialized agricultural crop-spraying aircraft. Established in 1969 and based in São Paulo, Brazil, the company was originally named Embraer-Empresa Brasileira de Aeronáutica S.A. and rebranded as Embraer S.A. in November 2010.
