Eni S.p.A. is an energy company primarily focused on the exploration, development, and production of crude oil and natural gas. The company conducts its diverse operations through several distinct segments: Exploration & Production; Global Gas & LNG Portfolio; Refining & Marketing and Chemicals; Plenitude and Power; and Corporate and Other activities. The Exploration & Production division undertakes the research, expansion, and output of oil, condensates, and natural gas, alongside engaging in environmental initiatives such as forestry conservation and carbon capture and storage projects. The Global Gas & LNG Portfolio unit manages the supply and wholesale distribution of natural gas via pipelines, including international transit, and the acquisition and commercialization of liquefied natural gas (LNG). As of December 31, 2021, Eni reported net proven reserves amounting to 6,628 million barrels of oil equivalent and possessed an installed operational capacity of 4.5 gigawatts. Established in 1953, the company maintains its principal office in Rome, Italy.
