In contrast, the Onshore segment concentrates its efforts on developing, owning, and operating land-based wind and solar power installations exclusively within the United States. Meanwhile, the Markets & Bioenergy division is responsible for generating heat and electricity through combined heat and power plants primarily in Denmark. It also engages in the sale of electricity and natural gas to wholesale and business-to-business clients, alongside optimizing and hedging its broader energy portfolio. Originally established in 1972 and headquartered in Fredericia, Denmark, the corporation underwent a significant rebranding. It was formerly recognized as DONG Energy A/S before adopting its current name, Ørsted A/S, in November 2017.
