Notably, these microturbines also function as battery charging generators for hybrid electric vehicles. Capstone's product range extends to a comprehensive suite of accessories. These include digitally controlled rotary gas compressors, integrated heat recovery modules for CHP systems, and dual-mode controllers that facilitate seamless switching between grid-connected and standalone operations. Additional offerings comprise digitally controlled batteries for independent or dual-mode use, power servers for multi-unit installations, protocol converters enabling internet connectivity, diverse packaging solutions, and other miscellaneous parts such as frames, exhaust ducting, backflow dampers, and installation hardware. The company further supports its customers with rental solutions and aftermarket spare parts. Expanding its scope, Capstone also delivers a variety of energy conversion products, such as hybrid energy stations, industrial gas turbines (including those from Baker Hughes), and hydrogen-based combined heat and power (CHP) solutions. Moreover, their portfolio encompasses advanced energy storage products, specifically microgrid storage systems and lithium-ion battery energy storage systems. Sales and distribution are primarily managed through a network of independent distributors and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Historically, the entity was known as Capstone Turbine Corporation, undergoing a name change to Capstone Green Energy Corporation in April 2021. Established in 1988, its corporate headquarters are located in Van Nuys, California.
