Within its Electrical Power segment, Mersen delivers a comprehensive suite of solutions for protection and control. This includes a variety of low, high, and medium voltage fuses (both IEC and UL/CSA compliant), associated fuse gear, and specialized power transfer systems for rail transport. They also provide surge and lightning protection, alongside power monitoring technologies. Furthermore, their power management offerings encompass high-speed fuses, robust DC protection for electric vehicles and batteries, advanced cooling solutions, bus bars, and diverse capacitors (aluminum electrolytic and film). The Advanced Materials division focuses on corrosion-resistant equipment, such as high-performance heat exchangers, columns, reactors, and pressure vessels. They supply PTFE and PFA-based components like bellows, pipes, elbows, and fittings, in addition to graphite bursting discs and other resilient materials, supported by extensive after-sales and maintenance services. This segment also produces a range of specialized graphite products, including isostatic graphite, carbon insulation, extruded graphite, carbon/carbon composites, silicon carbide, and flexible graphite. Beyond these core offerings, Mersen manufactures a wide array of carbon-based components, such as carbon brushes, brush-holders, brush-rockers, and brush gear housings. They also develop signal and power transmission systems, rotary joints, current collectors, wheel flange lubrication systems, carbon dust collection solutions, and monitoring technologies, including slip, pitch control, and electrical ring assemblies. Mersen's diverse products cater to critical industries such as energy, electronics, transportation, corrosive chemicals, and various process industries. Their reach extends to other markets, including building construction, elevators, ski lifts, defense, HVAC systems, and outdoor LED lighting. Established in 1889, the company, formerly known as Groupe Carbone Lorraine SA, rebranded to Mersen SA in 2010 and maintains its headquarters in Courbevoie, France.
